Troubleshooting & FAQ
Quick fixes for the most common snags, grouped by area.
Tyres — pressure calculator
The "Calculate Pressure" button is greyed out
You need to choose a tyre before the calculator can run. Select a Tyre Manufacturer and then a Tyre Make (the compound). As soon as both are set, Calculate Pressure turns on. Hovering the greyed-out button shows the reminder: "Select tyre manufacturer and tyre make to enable calculation."
The "Tyre Make" list won't open
The Tyre Make list stays disabled until you've picked a Tyre Manufacturer first — it shows "Select manufacturer first". Choose a manufacturer (e.g. Mojo) and the makes (compounds) for that brand appear. The same applies to Wheel Make, which needs a Wheel Manufacturer first.
I get an error: "Track temperature must be between -10 and 50°C"
The Track Temperature box only accepts a value from −10 °C to 50 °C. Enter a temperature in that range (it accepts half-degree steps, e.g. 24.5) and press Calculate Pressure again.
The calculation failed
If you see "Calculation failed. Please try again.", it's usually a brief connection hiccup. Wait a moment and press Calculate Pressure again. If it keeps failing, reload the page and re-enter your tyre choice.
The suggested pressure looks really high
Check whether you're reading the Target Hot Pressure rather than the per-corner cold target — the hot figure is naturally higher because tyres gain pressure as they heat up. Also check your Track Temperature: a hot track raises the recommended pressure (see Gay-Lussac's Law in the Glossary).
The "Kart setup" picker is empty
The Kart setup (optional) picker only lists setups saved for the Track you've chosen. If it's empty, either pick a different track or create a kart setup first (see the Setups chapter). You don't need a kart setup to calculate pressures — it's optional and just pre-fills your tyre and wheel choice.
I can't find my saved tyre setups
Saved setups appear in the Select tyre setup… box at the top of the page. If it says "No tyre setups yet.", you haven't saved one — fill in the calculator, give it a name and press Save.
Weather isn't showing for my track
The weather forecast and the estimated track temperature only appear when the selected Track and Setup date have forecast data available. If none is shown, just type the Track Temperature in yourself.
Sessions & telemetry
My file won't upload
Apex only accepts AiM .xrk or .xrz files up to 50 MB. You'll see "File must be .xrk or .xrz", "File too large — maximum 50 MB" or "File is empty" if the file doesn't qualify. Check the file and try again.
It says the file was already uploaded
Apex detects duplicates and won't re-import unless you choose Force Re-upload. Use that only if you genuinely want to import the same file again.
Apex couldn't work out the track for my upload
In Bulk Upload, any row Apex couldn't match leaves the Track editable — pick the track from the Select track… list before you ingest.
A lap is marked "Out lap" or "In lap"
Those are the laps leaving and returning to the pits, not full-speed laps. Use the hide in/out laps toggle in the lap table to compare only your flying laps.
A session I want to compare isn't in the list
The comparison picker only offers sessions that have a recorded best lap time. Sessions without one are excluded.
Setups
A field is missing from my setup form
Some Rear and Seat options only apply to certain kart classes (several are hidden for Cadet karts), so they won't appear for those karts.
The Gear Ratio won't let me type in it
That's expected — Gear Ratio is calculated for you from the front and rear sprockets, so it's read-only.
Apex warned me when I changed a session's setup
Switching the chosen setup on a session clears that session's overrides, so Apex confirms first. Cancel if you don't want to lose your adjustments.
New events aren't using the setup I expect
Check the track's default setup in Setup Defaults on the Setups page. If a track has no default, new events fall back to your home-track default.
Events & Purple Sector
Sector analysis says I need more sessions
Cross-session sector analysis needs at least two sessions: "At least 2 sessions are needed for cross-session sector analysis." Add more sessions to the event.
My event isn't in the Purple Sector picker
Purple Sector only lists events with more than two sessions. Add more sessions and the event will appear.
A corner in Purple Sector has no advice
There wasn't enough variation across your laps at that corner for Apex to generate tailored commentary.
AI Coach
The AI Coach is locked
The AI Coach is a Pro feature. Without a Pro subscription you'll see "AI Coach requires a Pro subscription" and a View Plans button.
A coaching reply failed
You may see "Failed to get a response. Please try again." — send the question again. If a conversation can't be saved you'll see "Could not save conversation. Chat will continue locally.", and the chat still works for the session.
Account, sign-in & billing
I keep getting signed out on the test site
The pre-production (test) site runs the sign-in system in Development mode, with shorter sessions. Being signed out occasionally there is expected — just sign in again.
Where do I find Preferences and Billing?
In your account menu — the account button at the bottom of the sidebar on a computer, or in the header on a phone. It links to Profile, Preferences and Billing.
What currency are the subscription prices in?
The subscription plans are shown through the billing provider in USD on the Pricing page. Check the live Pricing page for current plans and prices.
I can't change my profile picture in Apex
Your profile picture and email come from your sign-in account, not the Apex Profile page.
