Change your units, theme and start page
How to tailor Apex to suit you — units, the page that opens at sign-in, telemetry import options, and the visual theme — from the Preferences page.
Preferences let you set how Apex looks and behaves for you. You reach them from Preferences in the sidebar; the header reads Preferences / Customise your app experience. Changes apply straight away.
What you need
- Nothing — just open Preferences and choose what suits you.
Steps
- In the sidebar, select Preferences.
- Set the Unit System to Metric or Imperial.
- Choose your Start Page — the page that opens when you sign in.
- Set Top N Laps (how many fastest laps get full telemetry on import) and the Store In/Out Laps toggle.
- In Visual Theme, pick one of the four themes.
- Under Appearance, choose Dark, Light or System.
What you'll see
Each change takes effect immediately — the theme and mode reskin the app on the spot, and your unit, start-page and import choices are saved for next time. Toggling Store In/Out Laps shows a short confirmation.
Tips
- The four themes are F1 Broadcast HUD (the default), Luxury Motorsport Editorial, Cyberpunk Telemetry and Clean Performance Dashboard.
- System appearance follows your device's dark/light setting automatically.
- Set your Start Page to whatever you use most — for example, Tyres or AI Coach instead of the Dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Do my changes save automatically? Yes — preferences apply immediately and are remembered for next time.
What does "Top N Laps" affect? It sets how many of your fastest laps get full detailed telemetry when you import a session (default 3); the rest still get lap and sector times.
What's the difference between the appearance modes? Dark and Light force that mode; System follows whatever your device is set to.
Which theme is the default? F1 Broadcast HUD — angular, with gold accents. You can switch to any of the other three at any time.
