Create an event

How to create a track event (a race meeting or test day) in Apex that groups your sessions together, from the Events area.

An event groups several sessions at one track and day, and carries a kart configuration that applies across them. You create one from the Events page (sidebar → Events → New Event). The header for the Events area reads Track Events.

What you need

  • The track and date of the meeting.
  • Optionally, the kart and setup you'll run.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, select Events.
  2. Select New Event.
  3. Choose the Event Type — Practice, Qualifying, Heat, Pre-Final, Final or Endurance.
  4. Choose the Track (it defaults to your home or most-recent track).
  5. Set Date From (and Date To if it's an Endurance event).
  6. Check the Weather Type (Dry or Wet) — Apex pre-sets it from the forecast where it can.
  7. (Optional) Pick the Kart and Setup, or leave them to auto-resolve.
  8. Select Create Event.

What you'll see

The event opens on its detail page. If you left the setup blank, Apex resolves it from your track or kart defaults and tells you where it came from (for example, "Pre-filled from your default setup at …"). You can now add sessions to the event.

Tips

  • Leave Event Name blank to have Apex generate one for you.
  • For most event types, Date To follows Date From automatically; only Endurance lets you set a different end date.
  • The form shows a live weather forecast and the track's records to help you choose.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to name the event? No — leave it blank and Apex auto-generates a name from the track and date.

What event types are there? Practice, Qualifying, Heat, Pre-Final, Final and Endurance.

What if I don't choose a setup? Apex resolves one from your track default (or kart/home-track fallback) and shows you which it used.

How do I add sessions to the event? Open the event and use + Add Session to import telemetry; each file becomes a session in the event.
