Upload a telemetry session
How to import a single AiM data-logger file into Apex so it can analyse your laps, on the Sessions area of the app.
Apex reads AiM logger files with the .xrk or .xrz extension (up to 50 MB each). Uploading one creates a session with your laps, sectors and telemetry. You reach the importer from Sessions in the sidebar.
What you need
- An .xrk or .xrz file from your AiM logger, no larger than 50 MB.
- To know which track it's from (Apex usually detects this for you).
Steps
- In the sidebar, select Sessions.
- Open the telemetry upload (the single-file Telemetry Upload page).
- Drag your file onto the drop area, or select it with click to browse.
- (Optional) Set Top N Laps — how many of your fastest laps get full detailed telemetry (default 3).
- (Optional) Set the Dry / Wet weather toggle for the session.
- Wait for the upload to finish.
What you'll see
A progress bar with the current stage and percentage, then an Import Complete / Session Loaded card summarising the Driver, Venue, Best Lap, Laps, telemetry Channels and Samples. A New badge means it's a fresh session; Re-imported means you uploaded it before.
Tips
- Only .xrk and .xrz files are accepted; anything else shows "File must be .xrk or .xrz".
- Files over 50 MB show "File too large — maximum 50 MB".
- If you've uploaded the same file before, Apex flags the duplicate; use Force Re-upload only if you really want to import it again.
- To import several files at once, use Bulk Upload instead.
Frequently asked questions
What file types can I upload? AiM data-logger files ending in .xrk or .xrz, up to 50 MB each.
What does "Top N Laps" do? It sets how many of your fastest laps Apex stores full detailed telemetry for — the default is 3. The rest still get lap and sector times.
I uploaded the same file twice — what happens? Apex detects the duplicate and warns you. It won't re-import unless you choose Force Re-upload.
Do I need to pick the track? Usually no — Apex reads the track from the file. If it can't, you'll be asked to choose the track before the import finishes.
