Find your worst corners with Purple Sector

How to use Apex's Purple Sector to pinpoint the corners where you're losing the most time across an event, with a map and plain-language advice.

Purple Sector analyses one event across all its sessions and ranks the corners by how much time you're losing, then shows them on a track map with commentary. You reach it from Purple Sector in the sidebar; its header reads "Zoom in on the corners where you're losing the most time."

What you need

  • An event with more than two sessions (only such events appear in the picker).

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, select Purple Sector.
  2. Open the Track event picker and choose your event.
  3. Review the Event Sector Analysis tabs (Lap Summary, Segment Table, Time Gains/Losses).
  4. Use the Sector Corner Map and its navigator to step through your worst corners.

What you'll see

  • A highlighted Sector Corner Map of your top problem corners, with a navigator ("Showing corner X of Y") and a toggle for the map controls.
  • A commentary card per corner showing the time lost, entry/exit/min/max speeds, and — where your laps vary enough to be meaningful — a plain-language why and how to improve.
  • Corners outside your top three are still viewable, marked "Not in top 3 — view-only".

Tips

  • If the picker is empty, the event doesn't have enough sessions yet — add more sessions (you need more than two).
  • The top three corners are where you're losing the most; start your improvements there.
  • If a corner shows no tailored advice, your laps were too consistent there for Apex to find a clear pattern.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see my event in the Purple Sector picker? Purple Sector needs an event with more than two sessions. Add more sessions and it will appear.

What does "time lost" mean for a corner? It's roughly how much time that corner costs you compared with your best, so you can prioritise the biggest gains.

What does "Not in top 3 — view-only" mean? That corner isn't among your three worst, so it's shown for reference without the full focus treatment.

Why does one corner have no advice? There wasn't enough variation across your laps there for Apex to generate tailored commentary.
