Set a default setup for a track
How to tell Apex which setup to use by default at a given track, so new events start from the right baseline, using the Setup Defaults section on the Setups page.
When you create an event, Apex pre-fills its kart configuration from the default setup you've assigned to that track. You manage these on the Setups page (sidebar → Setups) in the Setup Defaults section, which explains: "Assign a default setup for each track. New events will automatically use the assigned setup."
What you need
- At least one saved setup to assign.
- The track you want to assign it to.
Steps
- In the sidebar, select Setups.
- Open the Setup Defaults section (under the Track heading).
- Choose a track and a setup in the add row.
- Select Add Default.
What you'll see
The track now appears in the defaults list with its assigned setup (your home track is marked with a Home badge). From then on, new events at that track start from this setup automatically.
Tips
- To change a default, select Edit on its row, pick a different setup, and save.
- To remove a default, use its remove control. Apex warns: "Remove this track's default setup? New events at this track will fall back to your home track setup."
- If a track has no default, new events there fall back to your home track default.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I don't set a default for a track? New events at that track fall back to your home-track default setup instead.
Does assigning a default change my existing events? No — it only affects events you create afterwards. Existing events keep their current setup.
How do I change a track's default later? Select Edit on that track's row in Setup Defaults, choose a new setup, and save.
What's the Home badge next to a track? It marks your home track — the one Apex falls back to when a track has no default of its own.
